Customs duty is based on the CIF value, vehicle age, and engine capacity, following TRA rates.

Shipping to Dar es Salaam usually takes 25–35 days from Japan, depending on schedule.

Excise duty is 0% for up to 1000cc, 5% for 1001–2000cc, and 10% for engines over 2000cc.

Import duty is generally 25% of the vehicle’s CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value.

All vehicles must undergo a pre-shipment inspection in Japan by EAA.

The price includes the cost of the vehicle unit, shipping charge, and inspection fee in Japan.

No official age restriction on used cars imported from Japan.
